Talking diversity at 2016 Tech Inclusion
7 November 2016
The second annual Tech Inclusion conference featured two days of inspiring, thought-provoking and challenging programming, consisting of speakers like Mary Grove, the Director of Google for Entrepreneurs at Google, Libby Schaaf, the Mayor of Oakland, the heads of diversity at Yelp, Atlassian, Paypal, as well as founders and chief officers from tech companies all around the Bay Area.
The event attracted some 400+ attendees, 130+ speakers, 18 sponsors, 600 job seekers and 27 employers, including Essence, to discuss solutions to the industry’s diversity and inclusion challenges.
The theme of the entire conference was inclusion across all ages, ethnicities, genders, sexualities or other kinds of backgrounds, and how to begin conversations, grow education and take action.
