Think of a breakthrough app that people use every day and Maps for Mobile has got to be front of mind. We were there at the start when Google asked us to help promote their innovative new application. It was long before the heady days of the App Store or Android Market. It was even before Mobile Marketing was a scalable medium. So we tested a number of different mechanics. There was one clear winner.
We built flash banners hooked up to a bespoke API that could push the application out to mobiles using WAP push. By entering a mobile number straight into the ads, our audience could get the application installed over the air. Best of all, we tied our API into Olive™, our proprietary media management platform. This meant we could optimise towards the best creative on the strongest sites. Result? One of the longest running campaigns we've worked on continues be one of the most cost-effective.
