Founders talk growth capital with Evening Standard

As we’re celebrating Essence’s ninth anniversary this month, the founders Matt Isaacs, Andrew Shebbeare and Andy Bonsall talk about the agency’s journey and growth to the London Evening Standard, the capital’s leading evening paper.
In conversation with the daily newspaper’s media editor Gideon Spanier, the three founders reminisce about the early days at Essence and how far we’ve come.
More recently, with the promotion of our new global CEO Christian Juhl and the founders’ changes in roles and responsibilities (Matt as Executive Chairman, Andrew as Global Innovations Director and Andy as Executive Consultant), the trio looks forward to helping the business grow and innovate without having to worry about “rather ineptly leading nearly 500 people”, as Andrew jokingly put it in the interview.
