Cathy Carl becomes Chief Marketing Officer

We’re proud to share that our very own Cathy Carl, formerly Global Marketing Director and NA Business Development Director, was named Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). As CMO, Cathy has joined the Global Executive Team as a standing member.
Over the past two and a half years, Cathy has been instrumental in transforming Essence from a boutique agency and ”the best-kept secret in the digital media world” to a globally recognized market leader and scooping up new accounts along the way.
Under her leadership, Essence was featured on Ad Age’s “Agencies to Watch” list (twice), won The Drum’s Digital Media Agency of the Year, and won back-to-back Adweek Media Plan of the Year awards. And pertaining to the business development side of her role, under her tutelage we’ve attracted prestigious new clients such as Visa and Target, competing at the very highest level in our industry against formidable opponents.
